We provide funding, equipment and support to first responders, government agencies and community-based organizations to increase the overall safety of the communities where we operate. Andeavor in Action
Andeavor community investments in Public Safety initiatives are making an impact. Here are some examples:
American Red Cross (Northwest Washington)
In 2014, we awarded the Red Cross a four-year, $250,000 grant to purchase, equip and deploy a new-generation emergency response vehicle (ERV). ERVs are the backbone of the Red Cross’ disaster relief delivery system and are instrumental in almost every phase of disaster response. Currently, more than half of the Red Cross’ 320 ERVs are over 10 years old, the oldest of which have been in service for the past 18 years. With disasters increasing in frequency and intensity, the Red Cross is needed more than ever before. The ERVs we funded will be deployed in Washington where, in 2013, the Red Cross responded to more than 1,000 emergencies and disasters.
California State Lands Commission (Statewide)
The California State Lands Commission provides stewardship of the lands, waterways and resources entrusted to its care through economic development, protection, preservation and restoration. In 2014, the State Lands Commission hosted the 11th biennial conference, Prevention First 2014: An Onshore and Offshore Pollution Prevention Symposium & Technology Exhibition. The event was attended by 400 representatives from both private industry and the public sector and featured breakout sessions and exhibits on marine and pipeline safety, pollution prevention and more.
